- MAPPS
- A. Crawford Mosley
offers one of the most prestigious academic programs in the country,
Mosley Advanced Placement Program for Success (MAPPS). Students in this
program have the opportunity to earn an International Diploma from the
Advanced Placement Board. This diploma is recognized and
accepted at more universities than any other comparable program. A sample
curriculum is available for viewing; however,
programs of study may be individualized to meet the needs of our students.
Our Mapps Coordinator
would be glad to provide you with more information about this exciting
academic program. You may also call 850-872-7793 to be connected
directly with the MAPPS office at Mosley.
- Dual Enrollment -
A substantial Dual Enrollment
Program with Gulf Coast Community College is available, which allows
Mosley students to earn college and high school credit simultaneously.
Numerous career programs which articulate with GCCC and Haney Technical
School are also available at Mosley.
- Career PREP Academy
-
The Career Prep Academy was
designed to integrate math, English, and technology into a program that
will allow the student time to explore various career clusters. The
student has the opportunity to investigate careers through research,
field trips, guest speakers and specific learning activities and projects.
This Academy is, by definition, meeting the requirements for both the
School to Work and Tech Prep Programs. It also is the first step in
working towards a Gold Seal Scholarship.
The Career Prep Academy
students enter the program as ninth graders and have the option of
continuing through their tenth grade year. They are in the Academy
first and second periods all year long and will continue third and
fourth periods outside of the Academy.
When a Career Prep Academy
student completes the program, he/she will have credits in Applied
Math I and II (equivalent to Algebra I), Regular English I, Applied
English I, Business Systems and Technology I, Computer Application
I/Applied Computer Technology (dual-enrolled with Gulf Coast Community
College), Career Research/Research I, and Research II/III for a total
of eight credits in two years.
If you would like to know
more about our program, please call (850) 872-4400 and ask for Pam
Owen, Merita Miller, or Rhonda Barker.
